OMFG

Return of the King was fucking awesome. There is NOTHING else to say about that. It was just.. Incredible. The battles were great, the acting was great, everything else was great.. Though, I do say that Helm's Deep was STILL the best battle in the trilogy.I'm not even going to complain about the parts that weren't there.. Like, Saruman period, the love affair between Faramir and Eowyn (though I think those'll be in the extended version when it comes out..) the Palantir of the White Tower, the Dunadain (period, doubt that'll be there later...) Aragorn's finding of the seedling of the White Tree, the Scouring of the Shire (at all.. I wanted to see the hobbits fighting the big folk and blowing their little horns!) Pippen's interactions with the guards of Minas Tirith, Merry's admiration of Theoden, the grave of Snowmane, Sam's jokes about 'Nine Fingered Frodo and the Ring of Doom,' Sauron's ambassador (who gave the fighters Frodo's mail shirt and Sam's sword to show they were captured,) what happened with Legolas and Gimli after the battle.. and there's more stuff that i can't remember right now because it is almost fucking ten o'clock. Ah well. I think my dorkiness has to end now before someone smacks me for it. Though.. I'm still pissed about the lack of the Scouring of the Shire. That was my favorite part of the ENTIRE trilogy. Dammnit. Ah well. Now? I am reading the Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle-Earth.. It's quite good, even if the stories aren't totally finished.. There's stuff in here that was in the Silmarillion but never brought up much because there wasn't room, and there's stuff that hasn't been mentioned anywhere else. After this? Probably the History of Middle Earth... The Book of Lost Tales I and II. If the library gets it in. Man.. if i could get all the books, the trilogy, the history, the silmarillion, and the unfinished tales, so I wouldn't have to keep wracking up late fines for them.. I'd kiss them. I'd cut off a finger and give it to them as a token of my gratitude.. er. Ok, maybe not that far, but you get the picture.I'm going to go take a shower, curl up with my cow, and read Narn I Hin Hurin. And if you don't know what that is.. Go read the Unfinished Tales! Mwahaaa!
